ME by Matahiwi Estate Rosé2025
A crowd favourite! This is a vibrant cool climate Rose, pale pink in the glass with effusive aromas of strawberry and melon on the nose. The palate is lively with raspberry and peachy flavours balanced with a smooth fresh fruity finish. Excellent on its own or with a wide variety of foods from fresh strawberries and cream, to chicken with feta, watermelon and pumpkin seed salad.
Vineyard
The fruit for this wine was sourced from mature vineyards in the Wairarapa that consistently produce outstanding pinot noir grapes.
Winemaking
We harvested the grapes in the fresh fruit flavour spectrum ideal for Rose.The majority of the fruit was pressed off immediately, while a smaller portion had more prolonged skin contact to enhance colour. The juice was then fermented at cool temperatures with aromatic yeast to capture the beautiful fresh aromas.After a short lees aging period the component wines were blended and prepared for early bottling.
